BOOKINGS AND CHARGES FOR THE FACILITIES

Bookings are subject to availability and on first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment advance bookings are usually made several months from the actual date for the event.

Bookings can either be made in writing to the Council or Tel: 082-242311 ext. 217 or by paying a visit to the Property Management Section on the 2nd floor of Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Selatan. The hirers will be charged according to the prevailing rates.

Auditorium MBKS

Situated on the Ground Floor of Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Selatan and with a seating capacity of 460 persons, the Auditorium is an ideal venue to hold public seminars, talks, prize presentation ceremony etc. The auditorium has a complete in house sound system, lighting, fully air-conditioned and carpeted.

Dewan Masyarakat

Located at Jalan Padungan and a walking distance away from the Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Selatan, the Dewan Masyarakat has always been a popular venue for both government and private functions such as dinner, weddings and various types of exhibitions. With a hall area of 613 sq. m. the Dewan Masyarakat can accommodate 800 people or 80 dinner tables with a sitting arrangement of 10 people per table at any one time.

The Hall is available for dinner / meeting / dance party / exhibition.

MBKS Indoor Stadium

The stadium is located at Jalan Utama, Pending and is designed for multi purpose usage. It can cater for indoor games such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis as well as for social function and exhibition. The stadium has a seating capacity of 3000 people and is equipped with portable sports equipments.

Renting Of Council's Flats

HOUSING ESTATE

The Council Housing Estate is situated on a 14.35 acre of land at Jalan Ban Hock, Kuching. The strategic location of the Estate, right in the heart of the city makes it to be one of the most attractive residential accommodations to the low income group who are mostly working in and around the city.

Presently, there are 4 types of accommodations which comprise of the terrace house, 3 storey 2 bedrooms flat, 3 storey 1 bedroom flat and 7 storey 1 bedroom flat. These accommodations are let out to low income groups only.

Interested individuals who wish to apply may pay a visit to the Property Management Section on the 2nd Floor of Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Selatan or contact Tel: 082-242311 ext. 220 / 221.

Guidelines for Eligibility:

All applications are processed in accordance with the Council's Guidelines and will be accessed based on Points System.

Application must be submitted using the forms obtainable at MBKS Housing Estate's Office on the 2nd FLoor of DBKS.

Applicant must be working and having their own income.

For a 1 bedroom flat, income must be not more than RM1000.00 per month and for a 2 bedroom type, income must be not more than RM1200.00 per month.

Applicants must be staying within MBKS area.

Song Kheng Hai Ground

 This is the only rugby field located in the heart of Kuching town, off Jalan Padungan, and is available for booking to the public either for playing rugby or mini telematch.

This ground is available for rugby matches at RM100.00 per day

Swimming Pool

The pool is located at Jalan Padungan, only a walking distance away from the Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Selatan. It comprises of an adult and children's pool. The children's pool is about 0.6m deep while the adult's pool is between 1.2m to 3.9m deep.

All pool users are charged with entrance fees and monthly passes are also available to regular users. The pool is also available for booking by schools or associations.
