MAYOR'S ROBE

The Mayor's robe is worn during important official state function. The robe will be worn with the Mayor's Chain of Office.

THE MACE & CHAIN OF OFFICE

The Mace and the Chain of Office are the symbols of authority of the City Council.

The Mace comprises a gilded staff bearing motifs which represent the major races that form the population of the City and State and the coat of arms of the Council. The staff is mounted by a gilded cat, sitting on its haunches, with its front paws in the air and with the face looking towards the viewer.
